At least 3 purple martins hanging out on the colony this morning, with one calling softly in Gourd G. They may have overnighted last night.

Nothing too vigorous yet - as in large quantities of leaves or sand brought in, but at least a dozen birds getting ready for the real business they came here for.

Hopefully the last freeze of the season has happened - we've raised the 12 gourds and are open to any returning Purple Martins. Reports of martins in the area are in, so it shouldn't be long.
